Performance has always been in Carys and Graham's blood. Even from a young age they both could have been described as the "Drama Queens" of their respective families. 20 years later they are still fighting for attention, however they now have access to stage lighting and microphones.
Carys and Graham first crossed paths on the foundation degree course at Circomedia, Bristol. Graham thought he was going to specialise in prop manipulation. Carys thought she was going to specialise in static trapeze. Together they discovered the delights of hand to hand and partner acrobatics… and have been working together ever since. After two years in Bristol, they moved to London to complete their BA at the National Centre for Circus Arts.
Carys and Graham formed Hands Down Circus in 2018, and are currently Resident Artists at The Roundhouse, where they are creating and developing new ideas and performances in their unique style.
Hands Down Circus aim to:
Fuse partner acrobatics with prop manipulation, through circus and physical theatre.
Expand the UK Circus scene to new audiences.
Create performances that are fun, playful and energetic.
