We are Hands Down Circus. We first crossed paths in 2016 during an FDA in Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre at Circomedia, Bristol - where Graham an ex-engineering apprentice, ready and raring to specialise in diabolo, and mathematics drop-out Carys had her eyes firmly set on the trapeze. It was there that we teamed up, leaned in to fate and began tackling the world of creating and performing together, without a single diabolo or trapeze in sight.
Bristol 2018
This journey took us to London where we graduated with a BA Hons from the prestigious National Centre for Circus Arts and began developing a relationship with The Roundhouse where we became resident artists in 2019.
It was here where we recieved our first commisson to create a new piece of outdoor work, and have since performed all around the UK, Ireland and Internationally - picking up new skills, expanding our creative potential, and developing a strange affinity for coloured duct tape.
